Paloma School District Teacher, Josie McClain, was named as a top four finalist for the 2nd Annual Gold Star Teacher of the Year Award at the Get Your Teach On National Conference in Orlando, Florida. She was spotlighted as an educator who has made a difference by going above and beyond in the classroom to support her students. Josie McClain has been a second grade teacher in Paloma since 2019. Congratulations to Mrs. McClain!!!!

Seeking: Bilingual One-on-one Paraprofessional:
Paloma ESD is looking for a patient and kind bilingual paraprofessional to work with a special needs child. The position would require the paraprofessional to assist a child during class and throughout the day under the direction of a highly qualified teacher. The position would begin the week of July 25th for required training. Pay starts at $13.05/hour.
The position requires:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
A Level 1 IVP fingerprint clearance card OR the ability to obtain one

Paloma ESD is looking for hard-working and positive people to fill two positions for the upcoming school year.
1) We are seeking a bilingual teaching assistant to work in our preschool classroom. This position would have the option of working 4 or 5 days per week and would work under the supervision of the preschool teachers. The position would begin the week of July 18th for required training. Pay starts at $13.05/hour.
2) We are also seeking an athletic individual to provide Physical Education two days per week for all grades kindergarten through 8th grade. This position has the option of only working two days per week or the position can be a full-time position that includes subbing the other three days of the week. This position starts July 25th for training and would continue throughout the school year. Pay is dependent on whether the position is for full-time or part-time work. The daily rate starts at $110/day.

The Paloma School District is auctioning off a 2004 Collins Chevy Mini Bus with 76,711 miles via a sealed bid auction . The mini bus is not currently running due to a hole in the gasoline tank. The Paloma School District has the vehicle available for inspection. Sealed bids are due to the district office Thursday June 9th at 12:00 noon. The Paloma School District has the vehicle available for inspection. Sealed bids are due to the district office Thursday June 9th at 12:00 noon. The Paloma Elementary School District will be enrolling students for the 2022/2023 school year beginning the week of June 27th. Students already enrolled at Paloma will be receiving re-enrollment letters with more information. We are also accepting open enrollment students for children going into 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th grades. Space is limited according to class size. If you would like to put your child on the waiting list, please call the office at 928-683-2588. Open enrollment will also begin the week of June 27th and parents will be contacted for an enrollment appointment. Priority will be given to children of Paloma employees, siblings of currently enrolled students, and possibility of being able to accommodate the entire family for enrollment.
The Paloma Fitness Center is opening June 1st to the public. Families may come to the school to fill out an application for access to the center. Families will pay a $25 deposit and $10 per month for family access. If you are interested in using the facility, please come to the office between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM to fill out the required forms. The end of year awards celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 25th at 8:15 AM in the Paloma gymnasium. Paloma families are welcome to attend and help us celebrate the accomplishments of our amazing students.
